I caught a bit of Fox's "Kelly File" last night, just in time to hear Oliver North's take on the suspension of military death benefits (supposedly due to the government shutdown but seems more likely due to someone making decisions on which kind of shutdown would cause the most hardship for citizens).
Here is part of what he said:
“It’s unforgivable that the [Department of Defense] is not paying to transport the families of these service men and women to Dover. There can be no excuse for what they’ve just done.”
Especially since the Congressional gym was open and illegals were welcomed with open arms onto the "closed" national mall...
More from Oliver North:
"Thankfully, generous Americans are stepping in to ensure that family members can meet their loved ones’ remains.
“This isn’t about the government shutdown,” Col. North said. “It’s about whether the commander in chief gives a damn about the morale of our troops. That’s what it really comes down to.
[…] It does not take an act of Congress to authorize this travel.
[…] All it takes is a commander in chief with a conscience.”
